Emily Gabris

Emily Gabris is a senior Talent Acquisition and workforce strategy leader with experience building talent functions that support complex transformation, regulated growth and organisational change.

She partners with executives and senior leaders to design practical talent strategies that reduce delivery risk, close workforce gaps and build the internal capability needed to sustain change.

Emily has led talent acquisition functions across government, high-growth technology and allied health environments. Her work spans enterprise workforce planning, talent acquisition function design, hiring manager capability uplift, employer branding and executive recruitment. She has built recruiting models from the ground up and led hiring across diverse, multi-site organisations with complex compliance and governance requirements.

Across these roles, Emily has developed a reputation for bringing structure and clarity to environments where hiring has been reactive, under-resourced or misaligned to organisational priorities. She works closely with managing directors, operational leaders and people teams to make workforce strategy visible, deliberate and tied to delivery outcomes.

A significant part of Emily's work involves organisations navigating growth or transformation, where the cost of a hiring mistake is high and the pressure to move quickly creates real risk. Her approach is grounded in the belief that good talent acquisition is not just about filling roles. It is about understanding what an organisation actually needs, designing the right process to find it and equipping leaders to make confident decisions about people.

Through Gabris Group, Emily supports clients on workforce strategy, talent acquisition function design and build, recruitment process improvement, hiring manager capability and talent advisory for transformation programs.

Outside of her professional work, Emily brings the same commitment to leadership and contribution to her community. She serves as Secretary of a performing arts group and is the primary editor of a regional cookbook and folklore preservation project.

Emily Gabris writes about talent acquisition, workforce strategy and the practical realities of building hiring capability in complex, high-growth and regulated environments.
