Bio and Expertise

Ubah Gabris is a diversity, equity and inclusion leader, executive coach and project/change professional with more than 25 years’ experience across banking, community leadership and social impact initiatives.

Her work focuses on building more inclusive systems, stronger leadership capability and better outcomes for people who are often navigating complex environments. As Customer Manager – Vulnerable Customers at Westpac Group, Ubah has led the design and delivery of Westpac’s inaugural Incarcerated Customers Program, creating an enterprise-wide framework to improve banking access and outcomes for customers in custody. She has also managed strategic initiatives for vulnerable customer cohorts, partnering across Legal, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Technology and frontline teams to deliver practical, customer-centred solutions while meeting regulatory obligations.

Ubah’s commitment to inclusion extends beyond formal role titles. She has held senior leadership and advocacy roles through Westpac’s RESPECT Committee, supporting domestic and family violence prevention, awareness and practical support across a large corporate workforce. Her community leadership also includes work with Rotary, refugee settlement and youth development initiatives, where she has helped create safer, more inclusive and more connected communities.

As an executive coach and capability leader, Ubah has supported leaders and teams through periods of transformation, behavioural change and operational uplift. Her experience includes leadership coaching, facilitation, compliance training, capability development and employee engagement across large, complex organisations including Westpac, Commonwealth Bank and NAB. She is known for her calm, practical and people-centred style, helping leaders build confidence, improve communication and navigate change with care and clarity.

Ubah also brings deep project and change management experience across regulated financial services environments. She has delivered and supported major transformation, remediation, customer, risk and operational initiatives, including change, communications and training across an $87M+ customer remediation program. Her strengths include stakeholder engagement, governance, reporting, process improvement, implementation planning, risk awareness and sustainable adoption.

Across her corporate and community work, Ubah is driven by a simple purpose: to help organisations design better systems, build inclusive cultures and support people to participate, contribute and thrive.
